New designer spotlight: Hackwith Design House

A new local clothing line quietly surfaced last fall in local shops around the Twin Cities. The St. Paul-based Hackwith Design House offers an easy-to-wear selection of lightweight cotton tops, dresses and skirts for ladies, plus tanks and tees for guys - perfect for the muggy, hot summer days of the Minnesota outdoor festival season. The line is available locally at Design Collective and Parc Boutique, plus shops in Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Cleveland and more, plus Netherlands-based e-shop Frou Frou's, and Etsy.

Local photographer Eliesa Johnson just posted this gorgeous new portfolio editorial piece on her website, and it features clothing by new local line Hackwith Design House, styled with jewelry by Cocoquette, on Ignite stunner Whitney Fransway, and Abe Reddy.

Preview: Juut promo shoot featuring Emma Berg

I have recently unearthed some photos that were shot for Juut Salonspa's S/S 2010 campaign. I was enlisted by then-Juut creative director Charlie Brackney (now co-owner of HAUS Salon) to style the shoot culling pieces by local fashion designers, with airiness, lightness and pale being the key words. Though the photos were never used, I'm excited to add these images to my portfolio. Here is a preview of one of the looks, featuring a commissioned design by local designer Emma Berg:

Whitney Fransway, a Minnesota native represented locally by Ignite Models, has been making waves since hitting L.A.

Her latest campaign: L.A.-based online retailer DJ Premium, which carries such brands as Diesel, Sass & Bide, Charlotte Ronson, Cheap Monday, and L.A.M.B. I'm looking forward to seeing more of Fransway, now signed with Factor (formerly ELITE), in the coming months. Visit Ignite Models' blog for more on Whitney.
