Lookbook: Anne M. Cramer F/W 2011 Collection

Local designer Anne M. Cramer has just released images of her Fall 2011 collection. The designer is a relatively new face in the local fashion world. Instead of participating in fashion shows like most designers, she has simply crafted a small collection of classics-with-a-twist, available in multiple colorways and offering new spins on past pieces. It's a smart move for an independent designer - by tightening the focus and limiting the amount of fabrics and pattern-making, as well as offering items for pre-order, Cramer seems equally practical and ambitious. Look for the silk, wool and cashmere collection to be available beginning September 1 on AnneMCramer.com and locally at Melly, Picky Girl, and Allee Metro Chic.

Locals appear in Glamour Magazine street style shoot

Last December, a crew from Glamour Magazine came to town to shoot Minneapolis street style. The resulting feature showcased some familiar faces, including METRO Magazine fashion editor Mary O'Regan, NELLE handbags designer Laura Nelli and Casey Carlson of The CW Twin Cities (and former American Idol contestant). Plus, one of the stylish Minnesotans featured wore a striped skirt by local designer Anne M. Cramer:

Anne M Cramer featured in Martha Stewart Weddings blog

Despite being in business for less than a year, local designer Anne M. Cramer is already making national waves. Today, the Martha Stewart Weddings "Brides Guide" blog featured Cramer's lovely striped spring skirt, which comes in a plethora of delicious colors. The writer says "They remind me of actress Anna Karina's wardrobe in the French film A Woman is a Woman by Godard. The colors are fantastic." The skirt will be available at local shops including Picky Girl and Allee Metro Chic in St. Paul and Melly at Galleria.

Anne M Cramer previews spring designs

Here's a little cheer for a gloomy January day. Local designer Anne M Cramer popped onto my radar this past fall with her delectable confectionery, ultra-feminine pieces. Anne's focus appears to be more about a few key pieces in a variety of fabrics and colors, rather than one-offs, as well as on classic pieces with a slightly vintage appeal.

She's just previewed a new design, The Flynn Skirt, for Spring 2011. The bold striped a-line skirt comes in a variety of colors against white: moss, sunshine, cherry, nautical (navy) and ink (black), retailing for $160. They'll be available beginning February 1 at select retailers nationwide. Check www.annemcramer.com then for a complete list.

Anne M Cramer Studio Opening

[Originally posted at Vita.mn]

Thursday, longtime local clothing designer Anne M Cramer hosted a studio opening for her fall 2010 collection. The adorably-styled shop in South Minneapolis was filled to the brim with racks featuring her classic-with-a-twist dresses and jackets. She seems smart to stick to a handful of styles and do them up in a variety of colors and fabrics. The black short-sleeve dress she wore (also pictured on a mannequin) was the most perfect little black dress I've seen - simple, classic, slightly girlish yet completely sophisticated. You can view Cramer's full collection at www.annemcramer.com.
