We can officially call it Spring here at Faire Frou Frou now that ARI DEIN has arrived!  The airy assortment of luxury loungewear is currently gracing our sales floor, but perhaps not for long based on how quickly it's been selling...it almost begs the question "what recession?". Thank you Ari for ending that pesky economic downturn with your inspired designs.
Perhaps the most anticipated part of the new season is the arrival of the men's style pajama set.  Though originally slated for Fall, the Boutique Hotel Pajama Top and Pant were pushed forward to the current season based on popular demand.  Now available, it has quickly become the best-selling item for the ARI DEIN brand!  We personally love the pajama set as it represents a casual elegance that makes for the perfect 'lounge in luxury' scenario.  It's practical but also quite decadent.       
Other new additions include the Jane Street group which consists of silk chiffon 'dobby dot' pieces with contrast black grosgrain ribbon trim (see 6th picture down to get a good idea of what the dobby material looks like).  With this group we see the introduction of a beautiful bra/panty/garter set along with the signature ARI DEIN demi robe, shorty and camisole.   
We're excited to share that there's even a few pieces from Spring 2011 that are exclusive to Faire Frou Frou!  The Boxwood floral print with fuchsia satin trim camisole and shorty was a color combination made specifically with our boutique in mind!  It's a striking combination that we are thrilled to have in our boutique. 
Designer Arielle Shapiro (aka "Mama Pajama" to industry insiders) has created a collection that has us feeling inspired.  We're hoping the Spring 2011 collection inspires you too!

We're kind of in an edgy lingerie mood these days (or more like over the past year), and according to what's been selling in our shop, our customers have been too!  That's why it was fun for us to discover the brand Dimepiece Designs.  Their Spring 2011 collection may be small but it includes some fun pieces; for instance, that white 'ribcage bra' (that's what we're calling it) is like nothing we've ever seen and the styling of their lookbook is pretty outside the box from what we normally see.  Granted, we wouldn't really classify Dimepiece as a lingerie brand, which is probably where that ready-to-wear edginess lends itself to their look. Plus, their online shop appears to stock mostly their signature t-shirts and accessories. Nonetheless, with bras, panties and a cut-out bustier in their repertoire there's no denying that the designers (Laura Fama & Ashley Jones) are inspired by lingerie.

Just announced: April Showers Bring Bitch Flowers

The annual drag show and party put on by stylist/interior designer Richard Anderson's drag persona, Bitch Flowers, April Showers Bring Bitch Flowers is always a gay old time. Held in the decadent Varsity Theater, the show features bitchy drag queen comedy and performances from Bitch Flowers, Krystal Kleer and Camille Collins, with special guests Polly and the Hot Buttered Crackers and Esme Rodriguez with live music from Harley Wood and Wrecked Wheelhouse, and rounds out with a riotous dance party spun by DJ Shiek. In a stylish twist, this year's edition ups the glam factor with the inclusion of restyled spring lines from local designers Emma Berg (hot off a solo showing during MNfashion Week), Voltage 2011 designers Raul Osorio and Ivan Idland, and DIY-styled lingerie line Lollycopter. It should be a night of campy fun.
